Job Description

Gem State Staffing in Caldwell is currently seeking a Weatherization Technician to join a local non-profit organization dedicated to community improvement. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire career opportunity.

Position Overview

The Weatherization Technician plays a vital role in enhancing home performance for residential and mobile homes. In this role, you will implement various methods to improve energy efficiency, helping local residents reduce costs and improve comfort.

Advanced Building Performance Industry (BPI) training. During your employment, you will obtain the following certifications:

  • First Aid / CPR
  • Lead-Safe Training (RRP)
  • OSHA 10 Certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Energy Efficiency Installation: Install home performance materials, including attic, crawl space, basement, and wall insulation.
  • Home Sealing: Perform air sealing, door weather-stripping, and the repair or replacement of windows and doors.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Conduct essential house diagnostics, including blower door tests, duct blasting, combustion appliance testing, and indoor air quality assessments.
  • Tool & Site Maintenance: Utilize various hand and power tools safely; load and unload materials at work sites; and ensure all provided tools are kept clean and in good working order.
  • Safety Compliance: Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including full-face respirators.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while working effectively with team members and the general public.
  • Reliability: Maintain consistent job attendance and strict adherence to scheduled working hours.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics.
  • Proficiency with power tools and a working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Valid Idaho Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

 Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm
  • Pay Rate: Starting at $16.00/hr
