Gem State Staffing is now hiring a Facilitator / Yard Load Builder to join our growing truss manufacturing plant team in Jerome, Idaho. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position ideal for individuals with experience in construction, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or material handling.
As a Yard Load Builder, you’ll safely assemble, load, and organize lumber and building materials for customer orders and deliveries. As a Facilitator, you’ll help coordinate material flow on the production floor, ensuring all supplies are stocked, organized, and ready for the next job. This role plays a key part in keeping the truss plant running efficiently and safely every day.
Prepare and maintain daily job lists for production tables.
Pull and organize plates for assigned truss jobs.
Stock lumber and materials at production tables and confirm readiness before build.
Verify all components for each job pack are at the tables.
Remove empty pallets and carts promptly to maintain a clean workflow.
Stage and push in the next job as production nears completion.
Organize carts and materials for upcoming production runs.
Move ALS materials to designated carts.
Restock and organize plate racks, ensuring correct placement.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the plate shop.
Assemble building material packages according to truss and customer specifications.
Safely load trucks with prepared packages for delivery.
Receive and unload incoming materials from vendor trucks or railcars.
Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist customers and subcontractors with loading materials and answering basic product questions.
Maintain yard and loading areas for safety, cleanliness, and organization.
Work as part of a team to meet production and delivery deadlines.
Keep only half pallets of plates in middle stock rows for efficiency.
Unload incoming freight trucks safely and accurately.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Perform forklift inspections and light maintenance (e.g., blowing off dust).
Assist with month-end plate inventory counts.
Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Forklift Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Ability to lift up to 95 lbs. and perform repetitive physical labor throughout the shift.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Basic familiarity with hand and power tools.
Prior experience in a truss plant, lumberyard, warehouse, or construction environment.
Basic computer skills for tracking materials and production data.
