Gem State Staffing is seeking a motivated and dependable Recycling Yard Associate to join our team. This role involves assisting customers, handling and processing recyclable metals, and performing general yard operations. The ideal candidate is hardworking, safety-conscious, and willing to learn new skills, including forklift operation and steel cutting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service and assist with incoming and outgoing materials.
• Rack, organize, and move steel and other recyclable metals throughout the yard.
• Cut steel to specified lengths using saws and other cutting tools.
• Accurately read and use a tape measure to ensure proper measurements.
• Operate or train to operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Perform heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs) and handle materials of various sizes and weights.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license (required).

• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

• Ability to work long, physically demanding hours in an outdoor environment.

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs on a regular basis.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring and cutting materials.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual.

• No prior experience required — willing to train the right candidate.
