Job Overview
We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in the Pocatello, ID area to join a growing team providing 24/7 roadside assistance, fleet maintenance, and repair services. This position offers consistent local work with opportunities for overtime and rotating on-call shifts.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with semi-trucks, diesel engines, and heavy equipment, along with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform comprehensive inspections on diesel trucks and heavy equipment
· Diagnose and repair issues with transmissions, suspension systems, and air brakes
· Conduct routine maintenance and preventative service on semi-trucks and heavy equipment (backhoes, etc.)
· Complete roadside service calls as part of a rotating on-call schedule
· Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
· Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings clearly
· Ensure all work meets safety and DOT compliance standards
Requirements (Must-Have)
· Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic
· Ability to diagnose transmission, suspension, and air brake systems
· Must have own tools (or most required tools)
· Valid Driver’s License (DL required; CDL is a plus)
· Reliable transportation
· Willingness to work overtime and rotating on-call shifts
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Must submit an updated resume
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in a dealership or fleet maintenance environment
· Background in heavy equipment repair (backhoes, construction equipment, etc.)
· Familiarity with HVAC systems, transmissions, and advanced diagnostics
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
