Job Description

Position: Shop Labor – Fencing Fabrication

Company: Gem State Staffing-Nampa

Start Date: ASAP

Job Summary Gem State Staffing is currently hiring motivated and reliable Shop Laborers for a local fencing company. In this seasonal role, you will assist the fabrication team in producing high-quality fencing materials for residential, commercial, and agricultural clients. Our client specializes in fabricating and selling all types of fencing, and you’ll play an important role in meeting the high demand during the busy season.

This is a seasonal position with strong potential for full-time conversion for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble various types of fencing materials (chain link, wood, vinyl, ornamental, etc.)
  • Cut, weld, grind, and finish fencing components according to specifications
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products
  • Assist with inventory management and shop organization
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily production goals
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Some overtime and occasional Saturdays required during peak season

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or welding is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs consistently
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions (shop is partially enclosed)
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.

In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
