Job Description:  Gem State Staffing-Nampa is seeking Fertilizer Delivery Drivers for a busy distributor in Caldwell. This is a seasonal position. This seasonal role offers the potential to transition into a permanent position or annual seasonal consideration. This post-harvest role is expected to last until Mid-Nov or Dec.

Drivers will transport fertilizer from the plant to local growers. Both liquid and dry fertilizer are distributed from this location. Drivers will utilize multiple truck/trailer combinations but will primarily operate a 10-Wheel dry tender truck.

Drivers will also perform preventative maintenance on equipment and perform general maintenance of facility.

Record keeping responsibilities required for warehouse/inventory control.

Experienced farm equipment operators may also be considered for additional positions.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Class A license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT Drug Screen
  • Current DOT Med Card
  • Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
  • Tanker Endorsement required
  • HazMat Endorsement encouraged but not required

Details

  • Mon-Fri work schedule, 8-10hr days are common – Expect some Saturday scheduling as well during peak production
  • Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00/hr DOE
  • Weekly payroll schedule, every Friday for last week’s hours

I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.

In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
