Gem State Staffing is immediately hiring a full-time Scalehouse Operator (Weighmaster) to assist with truck scales at a facility located in Buhl, Idaho. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse operations, or scalehouse environments, or those willing to be trained for an immediate start.
As a Scalehouse Operator, you will be responsible for accurately weighing trucks, verifying loads, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with company and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Perform weighmaster duties for inbound and outbound truck scales
Prepare and maintain accurate scale tickets and paperwork
Verify last product hauled and investigate weight discrepancies
Maintain and update the receiver log
Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and site personnel
Follow all safety policies, attendance standards, and company procedures
Understanding of truck components (steers, drives, trailers, axles)
Familiarity with truck types such as tanker trucks, farm beds, belly dumps, and other commercial vehicles
Prior experience in scalehouse operations, warehouse work, logistics, or transportation is a plus
Previous office experience, including data entry and ERP software, preferred
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Ability to lift 25–75 lbs unassisted, depending on task
Ability to stand for 11–12 hours per shift
Frequent bending and stooping
Ability to work in various temperature conditions
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and potential holidays
Must comply with all company safety regulations
Must pass a drug screen and background check
Reliable attendance and punctuality required
$17.00 per hour
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday shifts required on a rotating schedule
Full-time, on-site position
