Job Overview

Gem State Staffing is seeking a dedicated and team-focused General Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time, temp to hire  role with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position for team members who successfully complete the required hours. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of troubleshooting general repairs to become a vital part of the campus community.

Key Responsibilities

• General Repairs: Perform basic plumbing, routine electrical, carpentry, and maintenance of building fixtures.
• Work Order Management: Manage assigned tasks through timely completion while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all hand tools, power tools, and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
• Heavy Equipment Operation: Adhere to safety standards while operating gasoline, electrical, and diesel-powered equipment, including plows, backhoes, and skid steers.
• Preventative Maintenance: Complete routine PM tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Age & Legal: Must be at least 18 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience: Previous experience in a skilled maintenance position with similar responsibilities is required.
• Education: High school diploma or GED; vocational or trade school is considered a plus.
• Communication: Must be a strong communicator in English, both orally and in writing.
• Licensing: Possession of a current, valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (occasional weekends may be required).
• Pay: $16.91 - $18.00/hour, paid weekly every Friday for the previous week’s hours.
