Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Ditch Burners to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing controlled burns in designated areas to promote land management and ecological health. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire safety protocols and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct controlled burns in accordance with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
• Prepare burn sites by clearing debris and ensuring proper firebreaks are established.
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust burn plans as necessary to ensure safety and effectiveness.
• Operate and maintain firefighting equipment and tools used during burns.
• Collaborate with team members to execute burn plans efficiently and safely.
• Document burn activities, including conditions, methods used, and outcomes for reporting purposes.
• Participate in ongoing training related to fire management practices and safety protocols.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of fire behavior, fire ecology, and land management practices.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and report findings.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure situations.
• Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Familiarity with firefighting equipment and safety gear is preferred.
• Certification in wildland firefighting or related training is a plus but not required.
