Now Hiring: Heavy Equipment Operator / General Laborer

Gem State Staffing in Pocatello is seeking hardworking and dependable individuals for a Heavy Equipment Operator & General Laborer position in the Pocatello and surrounding areas. Job Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including loaders, excavators, skid steers, and other construction machinery
• Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and earthmoving projects
• Perform general labor duties including shoveling, clearing debris, and site cleanup
• Move materials using wheelbarrows and hand tools
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials
• Assist crews with trenching, landscaping, utility installation, and groundwork
• Follow project plans and supervisor instructions
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
• Maintain a safe and organized work site
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous heavy equipment operation experience preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor throughout the workday
• Must be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds regularly
• Experience using shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and construction hand tools
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Safety-conscious mindset and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license preferred
