Gem State Staffing in Pocatello is hiring an experienced Concrete Finisher / Skilled Concrete Laborer for commercial and residential construction projects. If you have hands-on experience in concrete finishing, form setting, flatwork, and site prep, this is a great opportunity for steady work and long-term growth.
This role focuses on skilled concrete work including forming, setting, placing, screeding, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces. No concrete pump truck operation required, but strong field experience is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
· Set and strip concrete forms
· Prepare and grade job sites for concrete placement
· Place, spread, screed, and level concrete
· Finish concrete using hand and power tools
· Perform float, edge, broom, and trowel finishes
· Install control and expansion joints
· Work on sidewalks, curb & gutter, driveways, patios, slabs, footings, and foundations
· Check grades, elevations, and measurements
· Maintain tools, equipment, and clean job sites
· Follow all safety procedures and OSHA standards
Experience Preferred In:
Concrete finishing, form setting, flatwork, foundations, sidewalks, curb & gutter, driveways, patios, slabs, screeding, floating, troweling, broom finish, concrete repair, site prep, rebar placement, and grade checking.
Requirements:
· Previous concrete construction experience required
· Ability to read a tape measure accurately
· Skilled with hand and power concrete tools
· Ability to lift 50+ lbs
· Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
· Strong attention to detail and quality work
· Reliable attendance and transportation preferred
· Ability to pass pre-employment screening
Schedule & Pay:
Monday–Friday with overtime and Saturdays as needed
Overtime may be required based on project demands
Some travel to surrounding job sites required (travel pay may apply for qualifying distances)
Starting at $20.00+/hr. DOE (higher based on experience and skill level)
