Pay: $26.00 – $29.00 per hour, DOE

Position Overview

Gem State Staffing-Nampa is seeking reliable CDL Class A Drivers for a position based in Nampa, Idaho. This role involves local and occasional regional deliveries with touch freight. Trucks are automatic transmission and equipped with sleepers for overnight trips when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to deliver products
  • Perform touch freight duties (loading/unloading as required)
  • Navigate delivery locations that may require precise trailer backing in tight spaces
  • Complete occasional regional overnight trips
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain compliance with DOT regulations
  • Represent the company professionally with customers and team members

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
  • Touch freight experience required
  • Proven experience backing trailers (some delivery sites have limited space)
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment DOT drug screen
  • Willingness to work occasional regional overnight trips

Equipment & Schedule Details

  • All trucks are automatic transmission
  • Sleeper trucks available for overnight runs
  • Local-focused route with occasional regional overnights

I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.

In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
