Gem State Staffing – Payette is looking for a reliable and safety-driven CDL A Truck Driver to join our growing team! This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity with excellent benefits available after a short probationary period.

No endorsements are required — just a valid CDL A license and a great attitude. You’ll operate 53-foot trailers, transporting goods throughout Idaho and Oregon on assigned local routes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate 53-Foot Trailers: Safely transport goods along assigned local and regional routes.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all DOT, federal, and state regulations; maintain accurate driving logs.
  • Customer Service: Communicate professionally with dispatch and clients; ensure on-time, accurate deliveries.
  • Load & Unload: Use a forklift or pallet jack as needed to safely load, secure, and unload cargo.
  • Maintain Clean Equipment: Keep the truck clean and organized at all times.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL A License – clean driving record required.
  • Experience: 1+ year experience driving 53-foot trailers preferred.
  • Forklift/Pallet Jack Experience: 1+ year preferred.
  • Physical Ability: Able to lift, load, and unload cargo as needed.
  • Dependable & Punctual: Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Excellent Communication: Work well with dispatchers, clients, and teammates.

I have been in the staffing industry since 2010. I worked alongside Jeremiah and under Dustin to grow the Boise office into one of the most prominent branches in the area and within the company. In 2015, I became the Branch Manager for the Nampa location and in 2018, the District Manager over Eastern Idaho. Over the course of close to 6 years, I enjoyed seeing record growth in the 5 offices I oversaw. In the end of 2023 I entered an ownership agreement for a single location as part of an extension into Western Idaho/Eastern Oregon with a new office in Payette, ID. I believe that determination with customized individual solutions sets us apart, and I’m very excited for opening day of the new Payette Branch set to begin operations early-mid February 2024.
