Gem State Staffing in Burley is now hiring a Biogas Plant Operator with strong mechanical skills to support operations, maintenance, and safety at a biogas production facility. This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in mechanical systems, industrial equipment, or renewable energy.

Responsibilities

· Plant Operations and Monitoring:

· Operate and monitor digesters, gas upgrading equipment, and other biogas systems.

· Use SCADA, PLC, and HMI software to control and monitor plant processes.

· Monitor fluid/gas flows, pressures, and temperatures.

· Conduct regular equipment inspections (pumps, mixers, valves, etc.).

· Mechanical Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

· Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance.

· Replace filters, belts, hoses, and worn parts.

· Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and coordinate complex repairs.

· Assist in equipment upgrades and overhauls.

· Safety and Environmental Compliance:

· Follow all safety procedures and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.).

· Maintain clean and organized workspaces.

· Respond to equipment alarms and emergency situations.

· Ensure biogas plant operations meet environmental compliance standards.

· Recordkeeping and Reporting:

· Log operating data and maintenance activities.

· Prepare shift reports and update tracking systems.

· Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.

· Teamwork and Collaboration:

· Communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and contractors.

· Attend training sessions and safety meetings.

· Support continuous improvement and plant efficiency efforts.

Requirements:

· Mechanical aptitude and experience in industrial plant settings.

· Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLCs, or plant control systems.

· Strong understanding of safety regulations and protocols.

· Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems.

· Good communication and documentation skills.

· Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various conditions.

· Experience in biogas, wastewater treatment, or renewable energy is a plus.
