Gem State Staffing in Nampa is Now Hiring a Weatherization Technician to work for a local non-profit organization. This is a full-time temp-to-hire position with outstanding benefits after a short trial period.

Job Summary

A Weatherization Technician is responsible for performing a variety of home performance activities to a home or mobile home.

This position deals with multiple ways to make homes more energy efficient. Advanced Building Performance Industry (BPI) training is provided. Trainings as follows, Frist Aid / CPR, Lead Safe Training (RRP), OSHA 10 Certification Training.

Seven counties are assisted through the agency program.

Compensation

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position starting at $16/hr

Essential Duties

• Installing home performance materials such as, attics insulation, crawl space insulation, basements or wall insulation, air sealing, door weather-stripping,

      repairing or replacing doors and windows.

• Performing house diagnostic testing, blower door, duct blaster, combustion appliance testing, indoor air quality testing.
• Using various hand and power tools.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required including full face respirators.
• Conducting work in compliance with MCS safety procedures.
• Safely loading and unloading of materials to work sites, keep provided tools clean and kept in good working order.
• Consistently maintain a professional and courteous manner and an ability to work effectively with other employees and the general public.
• Maintaining regular job attendance and adherence to working hours.
• Follow all MCS rules of determination of CDC guidelines.
• Following MCS safety procedures while operating fleet vehicles.
• Casual professional wear, some material may be provided.

(Steel toe boots are not required.)

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to lift/climb a ladder, lift 50 lbs
• Valid Idaho Drivers License and acceptable driving record
• Ability to use power tools, enter crawl spaces and attics
• Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work
• Ability to pass background check
