Gem State Staffing-Caldwell is seeking 12 Seasonal Class A Drivers for post-harvest season fertilizer delivery. The season is expected to start around the middle of August and last through November.
Job Description
Drivers will primarily operate dry tender 10-wheel trucks, sometimes with a pup-trailer. Trucks are loaded at the plant and drivers deliver loads to local area farms. Drivers that possess a Tanker Endorsement will also be considered for liquid fertilizer delivery routes.
Requirements
· Class A CDL – prefer Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements but not required
· All trucks are manual transmissions, Automatic Transmission restriction license holders cannot be considered.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs infrequently
· Ability to sweep out trucks
· Ability to work the complete season
· Less than 3 moving violations on driving record in last 3 yrs, no DUI convictions in last 5yrs
· Criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screen required
Details
· Typical start time is 7am and drivers can expect 10-12hr days, 5-6 days per week (no work on Sundays)
· Time and a half is paid for overtime
· Season is scheduled to start Mid-August and wind down at the end of November
· Starting pay rate: $21.00/hr - $24.00/hr DOE
· Weekly payroll schedule, every Friday for last week’s hours

I began my journey with Gem State Staffing in the Boise location way back in 2005. We only had 3 branches at that time! Over the years, I've managed Boise, Twin Falls-Burley, and back to Boise again. I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.
In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
