Gem State Staffing-Caldwell is seeking a residential construction worker for a local General Contractor. Our client specializes in custom home building, decks, remodels, backyard sheds, window replacement, siding etc. We are seeking candidates to consider for long-term temp-to-hire placement with this company.
**Our client would prefer an experienced carpenter but is willing to train an inexperienced candidate. Wages will be dependent on experience.**
Job Description
Worksites for this company will cover the entire Treasure Valley. Starting Sept 5th they will be working on a remodel project in Boise for appox 3 weeks. The next project is located in Payette. Projects vary in length and complexity from basic wood framing to window installation to deck building to custom home construction, foundation to finish. Transportation to worksites is available, if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with various construction tasks such as door hanging, hardscape, masonry, concrete finishing, concrete forming, carpentry, plastering, glass installation, and frame carpentry.
- Follow schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate construction.
- Operate hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
Skills:
- Previous experience in construction or related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

I began my journey with Gem State Staffing in the Boise location way back in 2005. We only had 3 branches at that time! Over the years, I've managed Boise, Twin Falls-Burley, and back to Boise again. I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.
In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
