Job Description

Gem State Staffing is seeking a manufacturing laborer for a full time position in Twin Falls. Requires long periods of sorting very small parts and or looking at parts for imperfections and defects. The Press Operator will setup a press with tooling & material appropriate to the work order, perform production inspections throughout the production process, use precision measuring equipment, quality monitoring, review paperwork for accuracy, and communicate within departments to produce a final product meeting the customer’s specifications. The press operator is responsible to for building and maintaining relationships in a team environment modeling professionalism, inter-personal skills, problem solving, adaptability, and personal value commitment.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Perform quality checks to stampings/turnings.
  • Assemble small component parts/Sort large quantities of product/clean/deburr parts.
  • Work in a safe/professional manner/keep work area clean/wear protective equipment.
  • Cooperation with supervisor & co-workers/willing to work as a team.
  • Show by example in temperament/professionalism & teamwork.
  • Arrive on time/regular attendance/willing to work overtime/any shift/other duties assigned.
  • Frequently lift 35 pounds, occasionally lift or move 50 pounds and rarely move 75-100 pounds (moving parts or totes of parts with a mechanical aid, hand truck, pallet jack or crane).
  • Using hands to feel, handle or grab/reach, pull, push, and lift w/arms & hands. Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Mathematical skills a must: add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers/common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret instructions either written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Specific equipment used: Small tonnage presses.
  • May be required to possess or obtain hand tools or measuring equipment.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
  • Must pass physical and math test. 
  • Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work for extended hours and work days.
  • Must be careful during work to avoid injury.
  • Must have own transportation to and from job site.

Shifts:  Day Shifts; Monday – Friday Training shift do vary when specified.

Duration: Full Time/Temp-To-Hire
