Gem State Staffing-Caldwell is seeking candidates for a full-time, seasonal, Operations Labor position located in Greenleaf, ID. This position will primarily work at the fertilizer mixing plant to support delivery operations of fertilizer to growers.
Job Description
Operations Laborers will wear many hats at the plant. Laborers will help batch plant operator load trucks used to deliver fertilizer to growers and unload inbound raw materials trucks and restock the warehouse. Laborers will also help complete inventory counts, assist in basic maintenance of trucks and farm equipment, complete housekeeping responsibilities and many more. No two days will be exactly the same and there is always something to do!
Duties:
- Perform general labor tasks as assigned
- Operate forklift to move materials and products
- Assist plant operator to load delivery trucks
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete tasks
- Assist with warehouse organization and inventory management
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a laborer or in a similar role preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift and other machinery safely and efficiently
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods of time
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted
- Driver's license with good driving record

I began my journey with Gem State Staffing in the Boise location way back in 2005. We only had 3 branches at that time! Over the years, I've managed Boise, Twin Falls-Burley, and back to Boise again. I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.
In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
