Furniture Mover

Gem State Staffing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Furniture Mover to join our moving crew in Rexburg. If you're an experienced in running heavy equipment, we encourage you to apply!

Furniture Movers are responsible for the physical handling, transportation, and setup of furniture and household items. This includes loading and unloading items, protecting and packing belongings for safe transit, and interacting directly with clients. The role demands physical endurance, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading & Unloading:
  Safely load furniture and household goods onto moving trucks, and unload at the destination, ensuring care to prevent damage.
• Transportation:
  Drive moving trucks or vans (if licensed), ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
• Disassembly & Reassembly:
  Disassemble large or complex furniture items for easier transport and reassemble them at the destination.
• Packing & Protection:
  Wrap, pad, and pack items securely using moving equipment (e.g., dollies, straps, blankets) to avoid damage during transit.
• Inventory Management:
  Maintain accurate records of items being moved to ensure all belongings are accounted for.
• Customer Interaction:
  Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring a smooth moving experience.
• Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques to prevent injury and property damage.
• Team Collaboration:
  Work efficiently as part of a moving team, supporting each other to complete jobs safely and on schedule.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Physical Strength & Stamina:
  Capable of lifting and moving heavy objects over extended periods.
• Detail-Oriented:
  Ensures all items are handled with care and accounted for properly.
• Customer Service:
  Friendly, courteous, and professional when working with clients.
• Problem Solving:
  Able to adapt and resolve issues such as tight spaces, weather challenges, or changes in client needs.
• Team Player:
  Cooperates with coworkers to ensure efficient and successful moves.

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license may be required for truck operation.
• Prior experience with moving tools and techniques preferred.
• Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends or evenings.
