Job Summary

Gem State Staffing in Pocatello, are seeking a compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Pocatello, ID to join our team in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. As a DSP, you will assist clients with daily living tasks, promote independence, and help improve their quality of life in a respectful and caring environment.

This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for caregiving and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary requirements
  • Monitor and record vital signs and report health concerns
  • Support clients in achieving personal goals and developing life skills
  • Ensure clean, safe, and organized living environments
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in social and recreational activities
  • Administer CPR or first aid when necessary (must be certified)
  • Communicate and coordinate care with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members

Qualifications

  • Experience in home care, nursing, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • CPR certification is required; first aid training is a plus
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to cook and plan nutritious meals tailored to client needs
  • Proficient in monitoring vital signs and understanding basic health indicators
  • Strong housekeeping and cleaning skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
