Gutter Worker – Meat Processing

Job Description

Gem State Staffing is seeking hardworking, reliable individuals to join a meat processing facility as Gutter Workers in Jerome. This role involves working on a fast-paced production line handling the evisceration and processing of livestock carcasses.

Responsibilities:

  • Eviscerate cattle, hogs, lambs, and small animals on a moving production line
  • Cut and remove internal organs including intestines, liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, and spleen
  • Tie off intestines and other organs to prevent leakage
  • Trim fat, blemishes, and bruises from carcasses
  • Split carcasses and remove glands and other tissue as required
  • Sanitize hands and tools between tasks
  • Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions in cold, wet conditions

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify employer)
  • Ability to speak English or Spanish
  • Willingness to complete an 8-week on-the-job training program
  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods in cold temperatures
  • Ability to use knives and hooks safely
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Experience in meat processing, food manufacturing, or production line work is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday; 7am-4pm
  • 40–45 hours per week
  • Occasional Saturdays required

You will be interviewing with a staff member once application completed.
