Job Description

Gem State Staffing is hiring a Restoration/Rebuild Technician for a full-time, temp to hire position in Twin Falls. If you are interested in helping people affected by weather or household disasters, this position might be the right fit for you! As a restoration technician you will be tasked with helping to repair and restore damaged structures, perform water mitigation and extraction services, remove and replace damaged drywall, plumbing and related materials, and salvaging belongings.

 

The position starts at 8am in the mornings and goes for roughly 8-10 hours (depending on the list of customers who need assistance), as well as being on call once a month for emergency jobs. This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for long-term employment as this is a temp to hire position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assess property damaged by fire, water, mold, and weather disasters
  • Clean and store salvageable belongings and property
  • Remove and replace damaged drywall, plumbing, and related materials
  • Perform water mitigation and extraction services
  • Decontaminate and deodorize indoor space
  • Repair and restore the structure
  • Going in to the homes that have been damaged by disaster, sorting, packing, & loading household items for removal.
  • Clean, restore, sort and pack salvageable items
  • Perform digital inventories of items before home owners return.
  • Candidates must follow all relevant safety procedures and protocols and work directly with supervisors and manager.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must be presentable and have a professional appearance.
  • Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
  • Physically you must be able to stand for long periods of time and pull objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Able to reach overhead and below the knees; including bending, twisting and stooping, as well as stand or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the day as needed.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
  • Able to read a tape measure and use hand tools.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient construction work site.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast paced physical environment.
  • Adhere to guidelines, performance standards and policies.
  • Follow proper safety procedures and wear proper safety gear.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Construction experience preferred but is not necessary - willing to train!
