Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, fostering a positive environment, and advocating for the rights of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with meal preparation and ensure they receive nutritious meals.
  • Support residents in understanding and exercising their rights.
  • Provide care for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, focusing on their unique needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness in living areas to promote a safe and healthy environment.
  • Monitor patients' health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Engage clients in activities that enhance their social skills and independence.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain a respectful and supportive relationship with all residents.

Job Requirements

Experience

  • Previous experience in home care, nursing home settings, or long-term care is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with CPR techniques is advantageous.
  • Experience in patient monitoring or working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
  • A strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are crucial for success in this role.
