Gem State Staffing-Caldwell is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic Apprentice to join our favorite client’s team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in diesel mechanics and be eager to learn and grow in their career. As a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience servicing and repairing semi-trucks and farm equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting senior mechanics with various tasks, including engine repair, transmission service, brake inspections, and electrical diagnostics
• Learning and applying diagnostic techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid level checks
• Following safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
• Keeping accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed
• Helping to maintain a clean and organized workspace

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical principles
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical fitness to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and crawling
• Valid driver's license
• Previous experience working in a diesel mechanic shop
• Completion of a diesel mechanic training program
• ASE certification (or working towards certification)

• Starting wage $23.00-$25.00/hr
