Job Summary

Gem State Staffing-Caldwell is seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators with 3-5 years of experience operating excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, or loaders. Ideal candidates are proficient with multiple pieces of equipment and are committed to safety, efficiency, and quality work in a fast-paced construction environment. Our client is a respected, growing contractor based in the Treasure Valley.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, or loaders to perform tasks related to underground utility installation (water, sewer, storm drains).
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Follow project plans, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors to meet project specifications.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
• Collaborate with crew members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, or loaders).
• Proficiency with more than one type of heavy equipment is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Knowledge of underground utility installation (water, sewer, storm drains) is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Physically able to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to jobsites in the Treasure Valley and occasional regional locations.
