Warehouse Associate - Shipping, Receiving, and Seed Bagging

Company: Gem State Staffing-Caldwell
Location: Caldwell, ID
Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with occasional weekend scheduling
Compensation: $18.00-$20.00/hr (based on experience)

Job Summary

Gem State Staffing-Caldwell is seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Associate to join our team. This role focuses on shipping and receiving agricultural seeds and working at a seed bagging station. The ideal candidate is physically capable, detail-oriented, and experienced with forklift operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipping & Receiving: Process incoming and outgoing shipments of agricultural seeds, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Seed Bagging Station: Operate equipment to bag seeds according to specifications, maintaining quality and efficiency.
  • Material Handling: Safely move, load, and unload materials, including lifting 50–60 lbs routinely throughout the shift.
  • Forklift Operation: Use forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Inventory Support: Assist with inventory tracking and organization to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all company safety guidelines.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience: Prior warehouse experience preferred; forklift operation experience required.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50–60 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
  • Availability: Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to follow instructions.

Work Schedule

  • Typical shifts: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • Limited weekend scheduling may be required based on operational needs.

I was promoted to COO/District Manager for Idaho and our single location in Salt Lake City, and operated in that capacity for 8 years. We opened several new locations under my direction and increased our geographic footprint to cover all of Southern Idaho. Many of the employees currently employed by Gem State Staffing were hired and trained by me, a feat I am very proud of.

In early 2020 the ownership for Gem State Staffing offered me an opportunity to buy the Caldwell branch and operate the location under a franchise-like agreement. I'm happy to report that in January 2024, I completed my purchase of Gem State Staffing-Caldwell.
