Gem State Staffing along side of The Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking employees to fill various positions for our 2025 sugar beet harvest season! BEET HARVEST: Amalgamated Sugar will be starting their harvest season end of September/beginning of October through November. This is a great opportunity to make that extra income for the holidays! Open Positions:
Receiving Station Crew/Quality Sampler- Works with a partner in recording truck loads and take 25 lbs sample from each load throughout the day. Communicate with piler operator to ensure proper field/truck ID's. Assist piler crew in cleaning and keep scattered beets kicked up on the edges.
Vent Crew- The vent crew safely builds ventilation pipe underneath a beet pipe. Safely assemble ventilation pipe, operate equipment (telehandler/skid loader) and keep area clean.
Platform- Will be assisting trucks in backing up to conveyor belts to initiate unloading. Raising stinger arm to proper height and opening gate to unload the trucks. Experience preferred but not required.
Piler Operator- Will be responsible for the overall safe operation of the piler. Daily oiling and cleaning of piler, daily piler startup checklist and safely operate under direction of station foreman. Monitor sugar beet quality, ensure piler cord is marked and guarded by traffic cones.
Receiving Station Crew- Assist the piler operator by communicating with the truck driver in unloading beets. Safely back trucks up to piler and unload. Keep area clean work area free of spilled beets and dirt buildup. Daily oiling and cleaning of the piler. Ensure the power cord is undamaged while piler operator moves the piler.
Tare: Work in the lab, collecting samples of beets and testing them.
General Labors: Laborers will assist with a variety of tasks necessary in the harvesting of sugar beets. Work will include backing in trucks, helping with harvest, shoveling, cleaning the storage warehouse, and ser vented pipes. Laborers may also operate pliers or be on a platform and drive a loader and/or dump truck as necessary. Other miscellaneous tasks may be required. The job will entail significant, repetitive heavy lifting and a lot of standing/moving
